WOXY's Lounge act -Editors
I was able to catch the latest WOXY.COM lounge act live on Friday and I was absolutely floored by Editors. You can listen to it here.
It was an acoustic set and it just rocked. I was so impressed that I flew out of work when I learned they were playing at the Mad Hatters in Covington that evening! Man, I haven't been to a concert in ages...so I ran home, dumped the concert T's storage box and started going through them, trying to find the right fit. Hmmm, Dio...no. Gary Moore....no. Ozzy Osborne....no. Iron Maiden...no. Scorpions....no. I finally decided to go with Led Zeppelin and my black/white flannel shirt. Grabbed matching bandana, as I need to score some weed. Man, does the bandana go in the left or right back pocket...I can't remember. I then rushed to the local King Kwik only to find out it's long been razed. No problem, the 7/11 will do the trick. Waited in the car until I found someone old enough that would be cool to purchase beer for me. The man looked at me funny but agreed since he would make a quick fiver out of the deal. I told the dude to get me a case of Little Kings, and he comes out with some Mexican crap beer which busted my account. So I'm now scrapping together change and able to put $3 of gas in the car. I think the pump display was broke since it showed only one gallon of gas was pumped. So I head to the club expecting to get carded...but the dude just looked at me funny, stamped my hand with something and waved me though. huh? Inside I was able to get served beer with no questions asked...Amazing...Maybe Covington is a bit relaxed with beer sales. Editors were great of course but I found it a bit strange how friendly the people where. At first they would stare at me and mention something about 80's costume party, but the guys were courteous, friendly and asking me if I knew what the bandana represented in my pocket? I said "of course I do, duh!" But man, while the guys were nice, found it strange there were no chicks hanging around, and the other guys didn't seem to mind. oh well.
